Join us for a three day break in Cambridgeshire Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th June 2017
The hotel is located on the main high street of the market town of March, Cambridgeshire. It has ample free parking and provides facilities to the highest standards with comfortable bedrooms and air-conditioning. We will enjoy free membership to the hotels leisure facilities during our stay.
On the Thursday and Friday we will be fishing at Decoy Lakes near Whittlesey. The complex is one of the best commercial fisheries in the country. We will practice on the Beastie Lake which is the oldest and largest on the complex on the Thursday. The following day we will have a 6hr match on Six Islands Lake which boasts an average stamp of fish approaching 10lb!
On the Saturday we will be fishing a 5hr match on Cock Bank one of the many local drains controlled by Whittlesey Angling Association.
The Craft Activity
We will spend a day hand dyeing yarn and fabric at Spin City in the beautiful fen village of Waterbeach. After a gentle foraging walk we will take part in a hand dying yarn or fabric workshop.
A full day workshop at Rachel Dormer Ceramics making a porcelain jug or vase with time to have a go on the potter’s wheel. It takes 3-4 weeks for ceramics to be glazed and fired so our pieces will be sent on to us afterwards.
An evening of jewellery making at The Beaderie in Cambridge will give us the chance to see the colleges and bridges over the river Cam by twilight.
Please note that additional charges might be made for the craft activity.
