Return to the beautiful Forest of Bowland
Friday 21 to Sunday 23 July 2017
LAST TWO ROOMS LEFT!
Following a successful Hassra walking group visit to the Forest of Bowland earlier in the year (apart from the weather!) we have booked the Shireburn Arms again for a visit in July 2017. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the Forest of Bowland is easily accessible from Leeds, situated to the south west of the Yorkshire Dales in Lancashire. The area offers walking in over 300 square miles of spectacular moorland, beautiful lowlands, punctuated by picturesque farms and pretty villages steeped in history.
There will be a short walk on Friday afternoon and a full days walking on Saturday, which will give us the opportunity to explore the rich and varied countryside of the Forest. There will be a further short walk on Sunday before departing the short distance back to Yorkshire.
For non-walkers the area has a wealth of nearby places to visit including the attractive market town of Clitheroe with its medieval castle. The historical town of Lancaster is also an easy drive away.
